I went to The Commons last week to hear a lecture entitled “Lessons from Cuba: Mastering Sustainability” by permaculture pioneer Roberto Perez Rivero. By the end of it, I wanted to hop a plane to Cuba, or at least convert my roof to a garden. Roberto has been an integral part of the Cuban Permaculture Movement […]

The Japanese Garden
My family visited the Portland Japanese Garden recently, on the heels of a trip through the Washington Park International Rose Test Garden (for short), on the first of our multi-day Drink In Our Natural Splendor! tour of Portland, Oregon. Here are a few photo highlights: (Candy Cane roses, a personal fave) (Jizo, the Smiling Buddha)
Two More U.S. Airports Open Yoga Rooms

Here are 10 humble suggestions from Solid Glow HQ. 1) Go berry-picking: (Photo by Oka-Tai Lee) 2) […]
San Francisco International Airport Opens Yoga Room
Finally! In a move that I hope is emulated worldwide, San Francisco International Airport has just opened the world’s first airport yoga lounge on January 26. It is located in a former storage room just past the security checkpoint at SFO’s Terminal 2. Now I’m looking at you, JFK. (photo by Paul Sakuma/AP)
